Following her early education at Bedales School, Dido Crosby gained a BA (Hons) in Zoology at St Hilda’s College, Oxford in 1984. This was followed by courses in anatomical and life drawing, etching, furniture, plastics and ceramics at Brighton and then after a two year period working in cancer research at the Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel and ICRF London and a one year course in Welding Practice at Hackney College, London, from 1991 – 96 she completed a BA Fine Art Sculpture at Central St Martin’s College of Art, London.
Dido Crosby translates into her sculpture the essence of each animal. Her animals are beautiful and real, yet with a hint of danger, nevertheless, they always invite the spectator to stroke them and enjoy their physicality.
