Born Sussex, 1971. Studied at Kingston University graduating 1994. Mary was Shortlisted for NatWest Prize and received the Stanley Picker Travel Scholarship to New York in 1993. In 1994, she took an artist in residence position at the Whitgift Public School in Surrey. Mary completed another artist in residence at the Cill Rialaig Art Project, Ballinskelligs, South West Kerry, Ireland in December 2013. She has exhibited with Gormley’s in Ireland and galleries in London and the rest of the UK.
Mary’s landscape paintings are concerned with the painterly nature of a snapshot taken whilst walking or driving. Each work is a visual reminder of how nature conspires and seduces. Inspired by living in a wood.
Mary’s work has been purchased for collections such as the Kensington and Chelsea Museums and Galleries, the Glenn Dimplex Group. Mary has work in private collections throughout Europe, South Africa, Singapore and the USA.
